The Celtic Cross Press printed and published limited editions of fine books. We are based in England, in the small North Yorkshire village of Wass, near the ancient ruins of Byland Abbey. We have published poetry and short works of prose, hand-printed by letterpress, on fine paper and bound in full cloth covered boards. Each copy is numbered and signed. All the original illustrations were printed from blocks cut in wood or lino, or from drawings made into metal line blocks. Many of our books are sold out, but you will find those still in print and available to purchase on the next page.
The highest standard in design, content and printing was our aim but prices were kept modest to appeal to collectors and book lovers of all kinds.
We printed on a 1950’s VANDERCOOK UNIVERSAL machine and although we are no longer publishing books we continue to use the Vandercook to print ephemera and original prints.
